Happy 2008!

I knew the holiday break was going to go quickly, I didn't think it would go this quickly! I did enjoy my time off. I was sad to leave Jacob this morning as he was blowing me kisses, waving, and licking the kitchen window. He still has one more day at home before his routine goes back to normal. He bit me three times yesterday and I'm hoping he gets that out of his system by tomorrow.

I didn't accomplish as much as I would have liked but it was a much enjoyed break. The Christmas tree is down and Christmas has been put away but, I didn't get to sleep in much, or sew Jacob's Diego sheets, make the gift for a friend's new baby, or crochet enough dishcloths to replenish my stock like I had wanted to do. I did, however, play farm, color, race cars, crash cars, watch Lion King, eat spaghetti'os and french fries, and chase after a little madman who hasn't yet learned to steer his Lil' quad so he crashed into EVERYthing. I did get woken up by little pats on my cheek followed by big hugs, and the sweetest little voice yelling "Ma!" one morning. I did accomplish what I really wanted to accomplish, spending some extra time, some quality time with Jacob.

$12,492,752.66 is an interesting number. Yes, that was $12 million. I spent a little of the company's money this year! Yeah, I'm back to work today. I had to add up and put 2007 away before I can jump into 2008 - which is where the $12 million came from. I have some paper that I need to ship to storage, some to move to a different location within my cubicle. Basically a move over to start over. I'm really curious as to what that number will be next year?

Speaking of numbers, here's another - $2072. Cost to repair what's causing Lake Harper. They can either go out the sidewall of our basement out to the shutoff or dig under our porch and out. Either way gives us an extra $40 charge from the city - $20 to turn the water off and another $20 to turn it back on. They also have to remove a section of the sidewalk and I wonder...who gets to pay for that?

I have talked to Amber almost every day. Still no change. The contractions come and go. She tried the old wives tale of drinking Castor oil only to call me twice to tell me that it didn't work. The last I was told is they are going to induce labor on January 4. I'll let you know if I hear differently.

Here's to a new year with it's own rewards and new challenges. Happy New Year!
